The Legendary Lady-Killer

Shane placed an arm around Faye’s shoulders to guide her away from Aguares after their little chat. Once they were somewhat alone; alone as they could get in a crowded bar; Shane stood in front of Faye and gently placed both of her hands on her shoulders at first then slid them down her forearms, slowly brushing her thumbs across the fabric of Faye’s jacket. “Hey…” She spoke in a soft tone of voice while looking Faye in the eye. “You ok?” Shane quickly regretted asking that, realizing that was the stupidest thing she could ask then glanced down momentarily before locking eyes back with Faye. “Of course you’re not.” Shane took one of her hands and lightly ran the tip of her middle finger across Faye’s cheek, wiping away one of the tears that spilled from her eyes.

“What I mean is, I’m sorry for what happened back there.” Shane shook her head back and forth lightly and pressed her lips firmly together to form a straight line. She hated how someone could willingly inflict pain on her. She hated how she had to follow orders. And that the consequences were splitting head aches. “And me being there probably wasn’t helping at all.” Shane let out a light chuckle. “You don’t have to tell me anything… But I am here for you if you need me, if you need someone to talk to.” She gave Faye the warmest of smiles as she reached up and took Faye’s face into her hands, slowly gliding her thumbs under her eyes to wipe away the rest of her tears as her smile slowly grew wider. “You really are far too beautiful to cry.”
